    Next 8-week Course starts February 2018 - Stoke Newington, Hackney

    This 8-week course is heavily based on the evidence-based gold-standard Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course and is designed to help you:

    • experience 'being in the moment' more - appreciating the present
    • approach stress and negative thinking in a  different way
    • boost energy and resilience and
    • work towards living life in a way that is more focused, balanced and calm.

    The course consists of 8 two hour evening classes, and an 'all day' of silent practice between sessions 6 & 7 to help consolidate your learning and experience a day of practice.  Open to mindfulness beginners and mindfulness returners alike, this course is aimed at helping you to embed mindfulness into your life in a long-term and sustainable way.

    Dates & Times:  Starts Tuesday 6  February 2018 19:00 - 21:00 and runs every Tuesday for 8 consecutive weeks.The day of practice takes place on Saturday 17 March 10:00 - 15:30.

    Location:  Tuesday evening sessions take place on Church St, Stoke Newington (N16). The venue for day of practice is on Newington Green (N16).

    Price: £250 (£175 concessions)  includes pre-course information and orientation phone call, guidance and teaching at each of the evening classes and retreat, written course materials, and  audio materials to download for your home practice on the course and beyond.

    Next 5-week Introduction Course starts January 2018 - Walthamstow, Waltham Forest

    This 5-week mindfulness and resilience introduction course is designed to introduce you to:

    • what mindfulness is and what it is not
    • some of the background, neuroscience and research on mindfulness
    • some of the main mindfulness practices for you to explore both in the class and at home
    • exercises looking at the relationship we often have towards stress and difficulty and
    • ways of living more mindfully every day.

    The course consists of five 75-minute classes, and an optional morning silent ‘retreat’ on the Saturday of the penultimate week in the course.  Open to mindfulness beginners and mindfulness returners.

    Dates & times:  Course starts Monday 29 January, 7:15 pm – 8.30 pm and runs weekly for 5 weeks.  Morning retreat – 10:00 am – 1:15 pm on Saturday 24 February.

    Location: Walthamstow Meeting House (a 10 minute walk from Walthamstow Central tube station)

    Graduate Sessions - London

    These sessions usually take place the first Sunday of every month and provide an opportunity for people who have  either done an 8-week mindfulness course or who have a regular form of practice to come together, reconnect with and deepen practice, whilst being guided as a group. We also usually have tea and biscuits afterwards for anyone who wants to stay and chat. The theme for this term is 'patience' and looking at how we can bring that to our practice, both formal and informal. Places are cheaper if booked in advance and as a block, but equally, subject to space you are very welcome just drop in on the day if you prefer. To book  your place in advance please fill out  this booking form and return it to ruth@calmcitymind.com.

    Mindfulness In The Workplace

    Calm City Mind regularly runs workplace taster sessions which can range from 45 mins to 3 hours and introduce people to mindfulness with a particular focus on its use in the workplace, as well as longer courses in businesses to help employees use mindfulness as a tool for managing their well-being and resilience.  The taster sessions are ideally suited to up to 15 people and can be run over a lunch break, early morning, or straight after work.
